If a hotel reservation is refundable if you cancel at least 48 or 72 hours in advance, should you not include that in the trip cost since it’s refundable? Or should you include it since it’s only refundable up to a certain point? I’ve never been sure about what to include in that total trip cost.
Great Q! I feel like if I know I can get a refund within a few days before the trip, I don't typically include it. But if you're unsure until the very last minute OR you've spent a TON on accommodations, then it's worth adding into the cost for the marginal additional difference.
